Knife and Folk are a lovely bunch and they kindly invited us to be involved in their Don’t Stop the Wedding event at The Washington, Sheffield. We gladly accepted and got beavering away.
The whole event kicked off on Wednesday 13th February with an exhibition of art around the brief of “music”. Very apt for the heritage of the Washington and left a lot of scope for all the artists involved. Our very own Bettyfishcake designed and displayed the’ Home is where the record player’ piece for the event which will be on display along with the other art work for 6 weeks and on sale during this time. This piece is a limited run of 12 prints.
We trawled through the adverse weather conditions and put on our best snow gear to get to the opening night. Cleats, shovels, grit and tennis rackets engaged.
Along side us other art on the night was supplied by SIOBHAN GOLBY//BENE BEDE ROBINSON//HAZEL PRACHEK//LEA SCOTT//MUTE//JECCA VICE//MILA K//STEVE GOODISON//XHASTEXO//BUBBA 2000//CHARD REMAINS//MAT WOOD//JAKE BRIGGS//BOUSCHE//PUBLIC OFFENDER
After manic evenings of sitchun, printun and packun our next attendance at the event was at the art and table top sale on Saturday. Albeit small, the stall holders had lovely quality handmade and inspiring goods on display and a warm and friendly atmosphere blanketed The Washington. We set up shop amidst fellow artists, crafters and makers with prints, totes, teacups and Foresters. Knife and Folk did a great job of organising some fab live music to oversea the whole affair from the likes of local musicians

For us the event just highlighted how great it is for people who do ,create and have passion to come together, encourage and appreciate creativity in whatever form it comes. Events like this need to happen more often as it’s an outlet to meet great folk, find inspiration and generally have a good time. If you see one of these events pop up in the future then we highly recommend you pop on down as you might just get a nice surprise!
These events can only happen because of people with passion, drive and ideas. Collective team ups work very well to bring together all these strengths. Collaboration works well in life and Knife and Folk are doing their best to promote and encourage this. We salute you!
